Industrial designer Nacho Carbonell is known for his innovative designs of, among other things, seating furniture. One of the most eye-catching designs from the current collection is the sofa with the name "Dream Of Sand. Nacho - a former student at the Design Academy in Eindhoven - explained;" I used sand as my design tool and made some outdoor benches that consisted of sand with a layer of FormX silicone rubber. The idea is to manufacture this furniture on site, and thus integrate it into the environment, and even to make extensions on all existing structures."
According to Nacho, the process of making the benches is the same as making ART a sand castle, with the difference that if the good design is obtained I get the sand with rubber skin. Nacho further explains: "This provides flexibility and comfort. The shape changed but the function remains. I have chosen a number of friendly and bright colors to contrast with the gray and faded colors normally found in cities and urban furniture, in order to escape the cold and gray appearance of cement and metal."
